本次專題演講於2022年11月10日在新竹國立陽明交通大學工程四館舉辦,演講由陽明交通大學電子研究所周世傑教授主持,邀請日本東京大學Prof. Makoto Ikeda及Mr. T. Shimada (Prof. Ikeda學生) 分享關於硬體加速、功能加密、安全性以及後量子密碼學(post-quantum cryptography, PQC)的研究成果及相關知識。
第一個環節由Prof. Makoto Ikeda及Mr. T. Shimada 分享團隊在後量子密碼學的研究成果,首先提到由於量子電腦的運算速度非常快,現今的加密、解密技術很容易就被量子電腦破解,為了抵抗未來幾年內預期將出現的大規模量子電腦對現今公鑰密碼系統與數位簽章的威脅,提出了一個應用於後量子密碼學的高速節能加密處理器,是以CRYSTALS-Kyber演算法為基礎的加密處理器,其特點在於以高速執行Kyber同時達到低能耗,相較於CPU,速度快了2.9倍、能耗提升89倍。第二個環節是由Prof. Makoto Ikeda分享的Hardware acceleration of functional encryption and its security measure,首先分享了加、解密技術的發展史與各種不同的加密技術,其中提到了三種加密演算法,分別是: RSA、AES(Advanced Encryption Standard)、ECC(Elliptic Curve Cryptography),接著分享了如何用硬體的方式加速加密的技術以及在量子電腦大規模出現的時代,加密技術該如何應對?最後總結提到兩個方向:針對public-key encryption、funciton encryption、FHE、PQC的硬件優化以及此類加密的安全性仍有待進一步的分析。此次演講不僅僅是由講者分享,同時也開放在座聽眾提問,讓聽眾與日本東京大學Prof. Makoto Ikeda及Mr. T. Shimada 能夠進一步的交流,達到真正意義上的國際學術交流。
Biography:
Makoto Ikeda is a Professor with the Systems Design Laboratory (d.lab), University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan. His research interests include high-performance, low-power, and reliable digital circuit, especially for hardware security and smart image sensor design. Ikeda received a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tokyo in 1996. He is a program committee co-chair of the Cool Chips conference series. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICEs), and a Member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ).
